How long does it take for a paramedic to complete the career training program?
I need to know how long it will take (in years/months) to complete the Career Training program for a paramedic.
Also, if you could name at least four courses required during the CTP, that would be great.

you have to work your self up to that level… depending where you are, you will have to start with emt-basic, then go to emt-intermediate, and then to emt-paramedic.. if you live in certain states, you just have to go through emt-iv therapy and then on to emt-paramedic… either way, you will have at least 2 years of school, and it is advisable to work in an ems service for at least 2 years before going on to get the paramedic…otherwise, i have heard the class is really hard…

Well you need to be an EMT first, that can be one or 2 semesters..depending on the program. Then for the EMT-P it can be either 3 or 4 semesters (mine was 4). When i wen through school (03-04) we had things like A&P, Cardiology, Pharmacology, Pedeatrics, ACLS, PALS, Trauma Care…ect. Don’t forget about the clinicals!! But all of our classes we kind of lumped together. We wewnt to school from 9am-4pm. We did not have times broken down for class..like A&P: 9-10:30, Pharm: 10:30-12. We just …went to school and studied different things at different times during the program.
These "classes" you need to take in order to become an EMT-P are pretty much only offered through the paramedic program. Don’t start taking random classes that sound medical. you need to be in a paramedic program in order to become a paramedic.
So just for my Medic license i went to school for almost a year and a half.

I live in Mi. I took the basic class, which was 6 months, then I went straight from that to Medic, and that took a full year, August to August. The Medic class, having not worked the road for awhile after Basic was not, I don’t think, any harder than it would be for someone who had worked the road.
It is harder than basic though. If you struggle with basic you might want to think twice about medic.
You need, without a doubt:
Cardiology, Pharmacology, Trauma, Medical, and Lab classes, but where I’m from it was all rolled into one. I actually only had three classes, lecture, lab, and pharm.
You also have to do clinicals, which is where you work in an E.R. AND on the road, without getting paid.
