cont’d:

They …
cont’d:

They basically give you a cheat sheet for the online testing they administer, so you can get certified and start making money… FOR THEM. The amount of info they throw at you is immense. Each week you have two pointless meetings where supervising agents take time to at you if you don’t make enough money.

Avoid Bankers at …
Avoid Bankers at all costs.

I was hired FAR too easily, but get this… Bankers hired so many new agents, there weren’t enough desks in the office. I made the very expensive mistake of thinking I would be selling policies left and right. I got a couple sales but got hit with a chargeback that basically erased any money I made.

One day our supervising agent gathered us in a meeting and asked us why he should keep ANY of us. The economy was in the tank; yet we’re to blame for low sales.

FOLLOW UP: I still …
FOLLOW UP: I still believe that insurance is a great career and I wish it could have worked out with Bankers, because I sincerely do enjoy working with the senior market. I walked out on Bankers and have since pursued a career with an independent agency and I’m much happier. They are not as pushy and demanding…. Best of luck to you whatever road you take, but please come back and update us on your personal experiences. Maybe it was just the office I was in too ………WHO’S TO SAY?

If you have the …
If you have the learning capabilities of Albert Einstien then go for it. They have their own training and it is RAPID FIRE INFO to say the least and the pace picks up daily. It stressed me to no end I would never expect anyone to learn the amount of material they push in 4 days. …If you don’t believe me, TRY IT then come back and we’ll chat. It could be a good career I’m sure but if you’re brand new to this prepare for something you never dealt with before in your life !!!!!!!!!!!! SERIOUSLY

I came to Bankers …
I came to Bankers straight out of college looking to start a career (not get rich quick), and I ended up just wasting my time, effort and money. Please consider all options before signing anything, because I didn’t believe the “scam” stuff before I signed either.

And I have sales AND cold calling experience and I still didn’t make any money

atthedr1ve February 7th, 2010

Don’t be as stupid …
Don’t be as stupid as I was and READ the contract if you do end up working there (which I hope after all of the negative stuff you’ve read you don’t). The company is not a scam per se, but it is definitely ran by a bunch of crooks that get more money out of their agents than they do their clients.

atthedr1ve February 7th, 2010

I left the company …
I left the company 6 weeks ago due to poor handling of my commission (ie I had a manager putting her name on contracts of mine that she didn’t have anything to do with).2 days ago I received a letter telling me I need to return all “written material” or I will be charged a fee and I owe them $450 for a contract which was “rewritten” after I left.Although the agent I signed the deal with is still getting her commission because the terms were “altered” from ppsp to monthly after I left I owe them.

Wow your a load of shit! I work for this company and coming from me as an agent I know that the your saying is all assumptions! Ladyv818 February 7th, 2010

Seriously….you …
Seriously….you know MANY people under 65 on Medicare?…what are you smoking? I know 2…a mentally disabled and a physically handicapped person…..but to say many…is either an exageration or a lie.

tuddyfruity4 February 7th, 2010

yes, i know many …
yes, i know many people who are under 65 and on medicare, it’s not just for seniors, duh. plus there’s nothing wrong with selling anything to old people, the problem is they take advantage of old people. They lie to them just b/c they’ll believe anything

tejanissimo February 7th, 2010

that’s because the …
that’s because the sell LTC and medicare supplements…..umm..do you know anybody under 65 that’s on medicare?

tuddyfruity4 February 7th, 2010

This company has …
This company has bad morals. They tried to offer me a “job”. They’re commission based and they take advantage of old people. I used to work with elderly customers (not sales) and let me tell you, they will believe anything they see on TV, very trusting. Bankers Life takes advantage of these trusting old people. You have to call old people and try to sell them stuff. Horrible.

phaybe1959 February 7th, 2010

Are you still with …
Are you still with Banker’s and for how long? I am just getting started, what branch are you in? I am looking forward to my next career and I know this is a career choice not a get rich quick scheme.

Mustangkid82 February 7th, 2010

Bankers Life Is …
Bankers Life Is Crazy. I actually had a mass interview today. I swear there were like 45 people in this interview, and out of the 45 only 5 had all their teeth (me being one LOL) They never really told us about the products or services, just that you could make six figures, six figures, six figures. Sounded like they were tring to sell the idea of six figures rather than a job or services. I turned down that job so fast, and then they wanted a reason why and 35 bucks for inviting me. HA
