Career Training Guide

What is the difference between the Career Schools (ie: you pay a fee they send you the books at home) vs…..?

going to a college??

First and foremost, colleges are generally accredited. A governing body has declared them capable of teaching the subjects they teach. Career Schools will teach you how to do the job, but you might not have anything that employers recognize as official. That does not always matter though. If you go to a Career School to learn to produce a radio show, you can prove to the employer that you are capable just by showing them (same as someone with a Telecom degree).

Balancing parenthood with your career can be overwhelming. Give yourself the tools you need to go back to school and become financially independent.

there is no interaction between teachers and students. You are given a syllabus and you are expected to study for the exam given at a local site – I got a 3 crdit college reading credit doing that.

At college you have interaction among teachers, students, friends and clubs. You can get help through student services and other college services.

The choice is how indepentantly you are able to work. Will you do the work on your own? Are you disciplined enough to set time aside for studying for the final test (exam)?
